This summer has been exciting for our winemaking team as we’ve received the results of two key wine competitions.
This year, we once again entered the “world’s largest and most influential wine competition,” the Decanter World Wine Awards, and we were honored to receive top marks that continue to cement our mission of continuing to raise the bar for Missouri wine and what is possible with New World variety winemaking. Run by Decanter Magazine, the leading global wine publication, this year’s competition saw over 18,000 wine entries from 57 countries judged by 248 of the world’s foremost wine experts.
This year, all five wines we entered received medals, with two being among the top awarded American wines in the competition. Our Cream Sherry received 93 Points which continues its three-year trend of placing in the top 100 American wines entered at Decanter. In addition, our 2019 Port received its first Decanter honor with a Silver Medal and 90 Points. Our 2022 Norton, 2021 Cross J Norton, and our Blanc de Blancs all also were awarded Bronze Medals, still a high honor coming from the world’s foremost wine competition.
Since first entering Decanter’s competition in 2022, our successes at it have been able to shine a light on the global stage on our often-overlooked wine region, the beautiful Missouri Weinstraße and historic Hermann, Missouri. Highlights over the years since include our 2019 Norton receiving 90 Points in 2022 and our Cream Sherry receiving 92 Points in 2023. In 2024, our Cream Sherry received 94 Points and was the 12th highest rated American wine, and it was joined by high praise for our 2021 Chambourcin (soon releasing), receiving 92 Points, and our 2021 Late Harvest Vignoles, receiving 90 Points.
This summer also saw the release of the 2025 Missouri Wine Competition results, where our wines were honored to received two Best of Class designations for our 2024 Vignoles (soon releasing) and our Pink Catawba, as well as 7 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. We are so happy to see continued success at this competition through all the years. See below for full results from 2025!
