Stone Hill Winery Awarded Best of Class Sparkling and Best of Class Rosé

2023 had an exciting end for Stone Hill Winery. In addition to helping host the American Wine Society in Missouri and raising an incredible amount at our annual Beast Feast fundraiser (read more about it here!), we received some incredible results from the American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition. We have participated in their past three competitions and done well, snagging Best of Class Native back to back for our 2017 Norton and 2018 Cross J Norton wines and Best of Class Hybrid last year for our 2020 Reserve Traminette. This year, since the American Wine Society was hosting its annual conference in Missouri, we felt we needed to show them what Missouri can do and entered 21 of our wines into their competition. When the results came back, we were incredibly honored to have received awards for every wine we entered. Even better, two of our wines received Best of Class distinctions, the Blanc de Blancs for the sparkling category and the soon-to-be-released Steinberg Rosé for the rosé category. With only 9 Best of Class distinctions available, we felt overwhelmed to receive both.

In addition, we were elated to see 13 of our wines receives scores of 90 or above. In the wine world, a 90 or above is an outstanding mark winemakers strive to receive from wine critics, so receiving that distinction for more than half of the wines we entered is incredible.
