Job Information

Stone Hill Winery is seeking a professional and outgoing person to join us full-time as our Assistant Salesroom Manager. This position reports to the Salesroom Manager. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and willing to work weekend shifts and some holidays. WSET or Court of Master Sommelier (CMS) Certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities Include

  • Assisting the Salesroom Manager with the general operations of the salesroom including scheduling of salesroom team, ordering merchandise, inventory management, cash reconciliation, and daily cash drop.
  • Leading the retail salesroom team in productive daily sales strategies.
  • Building relationships with guests to develop brand loyalty and achieve an exemplary customer experience.
  • Training the salesroom team in general wine knowledge and best practices and passionately learn and engage with the Stone Hill wine portfolio.
  • Working in coordination with event and salesroom staff to design and lead winery experiences including tastings, tours, elevated pairing experiences, and on-site events.
  • Helping manage the shipping coordinator position as they fulfill online DTC orders.
  • Cooperate with the ecommerce staff, the shipping coordinator, and other coworkers to manage wine club member experiences and wine club shipments.
  • General salesroom functions such as greeting customers promptly and creating an inviting environment, selling wine, guiding guests through a wine tasting, offering and leading tours of the winery facility and cellars, assisting with stocking of wine and merchandise, setting up and cleaning of the salesroom and tasting rooms, and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend shifts and some holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and great communication.
  • WSET or CMS Certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience with retail sales, customer service, or the wine industry recommended.
