Crispy Chicken Wings with a Spicy Blueberry BBQ Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 2 lb Chicken Wings
- 2 Tbsp BBQ Spice
- 1/4 can Chipotle in Adobo
- 1/2 bottle Stone Hill Blackberry Wine
- 3 cup Blueberries Fresh or Frozen
- 2 cup Tomato Paste
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1/4 cup Red Wine Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Honey
INSTRUCTIONS

Place chicken wings in a pot and add cold water

Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer

Cook wings until fully cooked

Remove from liquid and let cool completely

For sauce, add the blueberries, wine, chipotle, molasses, vinegar, brown sugar and honey in pot, bring to a simmer

Reduce the sauce by half, then add the tomato paste

Using an immersion blender, puree sauce completely, then reduce to desired thickness…if sauce is too spicy, add more honey and brown sugar

For the wings, set up your method frying, either deep fat or air fryer

Fry wings for about 6-7 minutes and then toss with BBQ spice, salt, pepper and BBQ sauce
