Harvest Festival
Every year as the first grapes come off the vines, we throw open the gates for Harvest Festival. Stomp grapes in a barrel, taste fresh-picked fruit beside the wines it becomes, go behind the scenes with the Held family, and spend a late summer afternoon on the hill above Hermann. Admission is free.
The next Harvest Festival
- When: A Saturday in late summer 2027, at the start of grape harvest. The date is announced each spring.
- Where: Stone Hill Winery, 1110 Stone Hill Highway, Hermann, Missouri
- Time: Opens at 10 AM, with live music in the afternoon
- Admission: Free. Behind-the-scenes tours have limited space.
What to expect
- Grape stomping. Kick off your shoes and stomp grapes in a barrel, the old-fashioned way. It is the one day a year we invite guests to do it.
- Grapes and wine side by side. Taste grapes fresh from our vineyards next to the wines they become.
- Behind-the-scenes tours. Special tours led by the third generation of the Held family, through the cellars and the working winery during harvest.
- Live music. Bands on the hill through the afternoon.
- Artisan vendors, lawn games and a photo booth across the grounds.
- Food and drink. Wine by the glass, wine slushies, beer, snacks and food from the smoker.
Harvest at Stone Hill
Harvest is the busiest and most exciting time of year at Stone Hill. Our vineyards around Hermann ripen from late August into October, starting with early white grapes like Vignoles and ending with Norton, Missouri’s state grape. Harvest Festival marks the start of that season. While you celebrate on the hill, our crews are already picking in the vineyards and the first grapes are arriving at the crush pad.
Stone Hill has been making wine on this hill since 1847. Grape harvest has been the heartbeat of Hermann for just as long, and this festival is our way of sharing it.
