November 2, 2020-
(Pictured: Jim & James Held) The first Beast Feast was in 1989 and was a small intimate gathering of the Held family and friends, each providing a dish (a potluck) and raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma. Each year since, the event has grown as Leukemia has affected more and more lives throughout our community and region. That first Beast Feast began as a tribute to James Richard Held, son to Stone Hill Winery owner Jon Held. Four years ago, Jon’s father Jim Held was diagnosed with CMML, a rare, chronic leukemia that strikes older adults. Jim passed away last year in October after putting up a strong fight.
2020 has certainly not been what any one of us could have predicted ~ & due to the risk of COVID19 spread, LLS has cancelled all in-person fund raising events. This is Stone Hill Winery’s 32nd year supporting the great organization of LLS. We would typically be busy this time of year with preparations for the Beast Feast, however this year will have to be a little different. While we will not have a 2020 Beast Feast event with the wild game dinner, live & silent auctions and raffles, we are not wanting to take a break from trying to help LLS fund more research to find a cure to blood cancers. Despite the many advances, there is much left to be done.
Please help us reach our Beast Feast goal this year of raising $10,000 for LLS by December 31, 2020. We are asking that you help us by making a tax free donation directly to the LLS Gateway Chapter ~ 100% of the money stays in the Gateway Chapter of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
To help us reach our goal, please visit https://events.lls.org/pages/gat/beastfeast2020 where you can make your contribution online in a few easy steps.
If you prefer you may also make checks out to the LLS - St. Louis and mail them to:
