Job Information

Stone Hill Winery is seeking part-time and seasonal Retail Sales and Tasting Room Associates who excel in customer service. This position reports directly to the Salesroom Manager and Assistant Salesroom Manager. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and willing to work rotating weekend shifts and some holidays. Interest and appreciation for wine is beneficial but not necessary.

Responsibilities Include

  • All essential salesroom functions including:
  • Greeting customers promptly and creating an inviting environment.
  • Selling wine and being knowledgeable about the products.
  • Guiding guests through a wine tasting.
  • Offering and leading tours of the winery facility and cellars.
  • Assisting with stocking of wine and merchandise.
  • Setting up and cleaning of the saleroom and tasting rooms.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Implementing productive daily sales strategies to ensure every customer finds the wine they need.
  • Building relationships with guests to develop brand loyalty and achieve an exemplary customer experience.
  • Passionately learning and engaging with the Stone Hill Winery story, Stone Hill wine portfolio, and the broader wine industry.
  • Assisting with periodic inventory and performing money handling procedures when needed.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend shifts and some holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Interest and appreciation for wine is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Experience with retail sales, customer service, or the wine industry is beneficial.

  • Enjoy one on one interactions – effective wine tastings require comfort in engaging with guests and a willingness to impart knowledge about the products to them.
  • Be curious and engaged – tours are most enjoyable and effective when the tour leader is excited to share what they know and learn what they don’t.

  • Be able to work independently and within a team in a positive and professional manner.
