German Chocolate Pie

Stone Hill Winery German Chocolate Pie
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 9″ Pie Shell frozen
  • 6 tbsp Margarine
  • 2/3 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk
  • 1/2 cup Coconut
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1 can Whipped Cream
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Melt together chocolate chips and margarine in bowl over boiling water. Mix together eggs and vanilla in mixer. Stir together sugar and cornstarch and add to egg mixture. Add chocolate mixture to egg and sugar mixture while mixing. Add evaporated milk and mix completely. Pour into 9” frozen pie shell.
  2. Sprinkle coconut and pecans into pie. Mix gently with fingers to cover coconut and pecans and distribute evenly in pie.
  3. Place pie onto baking sheet and bake in 350 degree oven. Bake approximately 30-45 minutes or until center of pie is set. Cool completely, cover tightly and refrigerate. Can be frozen for later use.
  4. Serving suggestion: warm in microwave slightly above room temperature and top with fresh whipped cream.
